Phi Psi Lambda History

Phi Psi Lambda Leadership Society, Incorporated began in 2016 in Paramus, New Jersey, when seven men decided that leadership—and the lives it shapes—could not wait. They built the first Greek-lettered leadership organization focused on men from communities underrepresented in higher education. From day one, the promise was simple and bold: give men of vision a clear path and a brotherhood that holds them accountable, and they will lift families, campuses, workplaces, and communities.

That path was earned, not handed out. Founder Damyén Davis met six remarkable individuals—Juan Hurtado, Jordan Posada, Fernando Senchi, Tristan Anderson, Elisha Phillips, and Justin Anderson—each carrying a different spark of leadership. Together they formed our inaugural generation line and the Society’s seven Founders. Their standard of courage, discipline, and service became our compass—and still is.

Since then, Phi Psi Lambda has grown from an idea into a movement. We develop leaders who can read a room, navigate complex systems, and make change you can measure. Signature programs turn values into action: PSIrenity centers mental health and healing; the National Day of Service mobilizes hands and hearts; Lambda Week celebrates culture, achievement, and community impact. It is leadership training that shows up in real life.

At the core is character. Our mentorship and scholarship are designed to build integrity, humility, and cultural wisdom—not just résumés. Brothers serve, give, and mentor because leadership is bigger than titles; it is the daily choice to show up for your people. Through projects, coaching, and community partnerships, members learn to design solutions and move them forward together.

Phi Psi Lambda is where men of color discover the strength of discipline and the power of brotherhood. It is a home for self-improvement, honest reflection, and shared accountability. And it is still being written—by Nobles who turn potential into progress, purpose into impact, and leadership into a living legacy.
